|Taking User Input in a batch file|
|To take user input in a batch file without using external tools or programs, you can use TYPE CON in combination with FOR /F

In Windows XP, an addition to the SET command can be used to do it even easier:
This will promt the user with:
Please enter your input: _
And drop the user input into a variable called %USERINPUT%.
