|Installing Synergy in 4 easy steps|
|1) Make sure you have the correct compiler and libraries installed:
2) Download the Synergy2 source (tar) in your home-dir and unpack:
This will give you a directory called synergy-1.3.1, cd into this directory.
3) Compile the program and install it (you may need to be root to do step 1 and 3):
4) Configure the server by creating a configuration file (either personal or systemwide, I prefer personal) in your homedir called .synergy.conf and adding the following lines to it:
Replace servername and clientname with your Synergy server and Synergy client. Obviously, use left/right/up/down for the location of the screens.
Instead op IP addresses in the aliasses section, DNS names can be used.
Start the Synergy server by running /usr/bin/synergys
To debug (and keep Synergy running in the front), run /usr/bin/synergys -f
