|Setting up dual monitors (ATI)|
|!! Always make a backup of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf and check this in case of problems. !!
To set up dual (or triple) head with an ATI card, make sure that you have the official ATI drivers installed on your machine and do the following:
sudo aticonfig --initial=dual-head --screen-layout=rightof
Ath this time, the config file has been created and you will have 2 separate screens set up. If you want one large screen covering 2 monitors, edit your xorg.conf and add the following line (in bold) to the serverlayout section:
sudo vi /etc/X11/xorg.conf
....All your options are here....
Option "Xinerama" "on"
Restart X by pressing CTRL-ALT-Backspace
